Lessons from 2018

Updated: Oct 18, 2024

It has taught me a few things :

1) Some people will leave when it gets hard, or they won't even bother to ask if you're okay. Reconsider their place in your life.

2) Emotions can't kill you. It's what you do when reacting to them that can be dangerous.

3) We take way too many things & people for granted. Stop wasting time doing things you hate. Say I love you more. Be kinder.

4) You can't take care of others if you don't take care of yourself first. Your mental health should be your priority.

5) You are allowed to cry and be in pain. You are allowed to be angry. No need to put on a brave face. Struggling doesn't mean you are weak.

6) You need to feel it before you can heal it.

7) Life has a way of challenging you with what you fear most. Trust & have faith in yourself, you will survive this pain.

8) Some people want to help you. LET THEM. Being alone makes things so much harder.

9) Don't let fear stop you. Life is short. Don't die with regrets.

10) Do your best but don't beat yourself up. There's far more important things in life than being perfect.

11) We are HUMAN. It's okay to mess up.

12) Recovery is not a life guarantee, you need to make that choice every day.

13) Grief comes in waves. Hold on.
